Mental, emotional, and physical health (especially that of the vagina) are all sooooo important to the health of your sex life. So, here's post number one of health! I hope you all enjoy.

There is nothing I dread more than my period. But girl, if it's late, I'm tripping. In the words of Dr. Jackie from Married to Medicine, that bitch is a frenemy. I definitely hate her more than I love her but I can't live stress-free without tracking where she is and more importantly, what she's about to do next. I always stay one step ahead of her, or at least I try to.
For the longest, it's been so hard to determine what would help me stay normal (or as normal as I can be) not only during my time of the month but during the sickly but non-bloody parts of my month. Fatigue, acne, cravings, allat, just popping up at their designated times throughout the month. This hoe not only makes a scene when she arrives but makes sure you still feel her presence when she's not around. The bad news is, we have to accept her presence or swap her out for the very similar symptoms of artificial hormones. Sometimes, we even have to deal with both.
The good news: capitalism has finally created a market for our month-long struggle (not saying capitalism is great because NO). They finally figured out Ibuprofen can't do it all for us. And neither can Rom-Coms and ice cream fix our symptoms... But I will still be indulging soooooo. I ain't say we getting rid of the old; I'm just here to add in a lil new.
Okay, I'm sure y'all are tired of me beating around the bush with this lil secret of mine so Imma just say it but before I do, don't think I'm just tryna sell something to y'all. The offer is FREE aside from shipping & handling. And I promise it's worth that $8.99 and then some. I PROMISE!!! Girl, so, Cleo!!! CLEO?!!!! Cleo is that girl. And I tried it so you won't even have to spend your money on broken hopes. So, let's get into the tea.
About the brand: "At Cleo, we believe periods should never affect performance. That’s why our mission is to arm women with safe, hardworking health and wellness-enhancing solutions to keep them on their A-game every day of the month."
Their main product is the Period Performance Kit. This includes all of their products that are available to individual purchases. Their claim on the Period Performance Kit? Cleo’s Period Performance Kit offers an arsenal of therapeutic and plant-based remedies designed to kick cramps to the curb, battle the bloat, boost flagging energy levels, overthrow hormonal acne and slay the dreaded PMS dragon." To be honest... it's not just a claim. It's the truth. But we'll break down this kit a little later in the post.
Let's talk a little about logistics first. You can set up their Period Performance Kit, their Pamper Kit, or your custom kit as a subscription or you can just make a one-time purchase. The Pamper Kit is more of the glamour things: eye patches, face masks, etc etc. The custom kit caters to your PMS concerns and discomforts. When you go to the Cleo site, you will be able to take a quiz to determine what you do and may not need. This will cut your monthly costs by getting rid of the products that may not benefit you and may go to waste. However, you can still choose to receive all of their products by signing up for the Period Performance Kit. That's what I did! I wanted it all, just in case. Sometimes the red bitch is a little unpredictable so I'd rather be prepared. Plus, I just started birth control and I don't know what to expect from this one so we shall see what my body wants to do. no matter what, though, Im prepared.
So, the products. Let's break down this kit and go over what everything claims it does and whether or not it actually does it.
SAVE YOUR SANITY PMS multivitamin-multimineral supplements - This product here is what I was stalking my mailman. I don't know why I never thought to take vitamins before but an all-in-one is exactly what I've been missing. I suffer from nausea at multiple points throughout my cycle and try to change my diet in order to get the nutrients that I need but tbh... idek what I'm doing when it comes to my dietary needs. Imma work on that but in the meantime, I tried out this little vitamin and 10/10, highly recommend. It cleared my nausea right up. 5 stars. Period.
COMFORT portable heat patch - To my surprise, they send over multiple!!! Definitely enough to last you throughout your period while you're on the go. I believe each kit comes with 5. It has an adhesive side so it sticks to your body under your clothes when you're out and about. So, while the country procrastinates on giving us paid sick days for periods, you can survive a little more with these patches. But I'm not gonna hold y'all. This is the only product I haven't tried and I probably won't for a while. I'm not sure why but I did not have cramps this month. This is my first time since my first period ever that I did not experience cramps. I don't wanna put that on the vitamins but Idk. I assume the patch is as good as any other.
CLEAR acne patches - These were surprisingly a fave for me. I've never tried any type of acne patches so I can't compare but they definitely worked and worked well! I had a few pimples pop up and they reduced the size significantly overnight. FYI: they have to sit on your face for at least 6 hours so it's definitely an overnight thing. 4.5/5. I just wish they would stick to my face a little better tbh.
ENERGY drink mix - Pro-tip: don't mix this into your sparkling water. It'll be a fizzy mess lol but other than that, it works like a charm. The taste isn't terrible and it actually does give me a healthy dose of energy. It doesn't make me jittery as coffee does and it simply delivers. 4.5/5.
REFRESH cleansing wipes - I don't any other feminine wipes that are not Honey Pot. I don't trust these companies with my cooch that much, now. I'm loyal to my loves over at Honey Pot so this went untouched tbh.
REJUVENATE cooling eye masks - I've never used an eye mask but honestly, Imma have to look into a little weekly use of. Unfortunately, you only get one per kit but you can order more on their site. Tbh, I don't see myself using their skincare more than once a month; that's what skincare companies are for but I love the fact that the kit includes it. It definitely helps my face and eyes relax and soothes my little workaholic eyes. I definitely recommend it. 4/5.
HYDRATE face masks - Same applies here. It's a really really nice tool to relax and have a pamper-me type of night when your body is trying to stress you out but Cleo isn't exactly a skincare brand. I love it for what it is! I love that Cleo even thought to attack the acne problem. 4/5.
In conclusion, I absolutely love this brand. I love their approach to periods; it's one that attacks most of the main symptoms that we experience throughout the entire month, and not just that one dreadful 3-7 days. From first day no-panty-liner to ovulation to the last day of BBQ sauce... the performance kit has everything the average period-having being will encounter and the custom kit will have most of what YOU need. They also have a blog that further discusses their products and symptoms that we experience on the regular.
I highly recommend Cleo's performance kit. And as I said earlier, you can get the box for free; you just have to pay $8.99 for shipping & handling. Even if you aren't sure, set up an account with Cleo today and do a little more of your own research. You can check out your blog, ask them questions, ask me questions. I'm here to help you! Again, as I mentioned earlier, I am not getting paid for this post but I am using my affiliate links. Matter of fact, I don't even get commission; I only get free products after a certain amount of people sign up. So you know the products are good if I'm working to get more. Those vitamins don't pay my bills but they absolutely work.
Anyways, if you all decide to try it out, let me know what y'all think! Y'all can reach out to me on our social media platforms (@JanetsRoom across platforms) or you can comment below. If y'all have any questions, same protocol. Let's tackle the insanity that is our cycle as a community!
